LaGrange County Community Foundation Awards $25,000 to The Farm Place
The Farm Place has been awarded a significant grant of $25,000 from the LaGrange County Community Foundation to aid in the completion of its innovative Animal Companionship Center in LaGrange.
Enhancing Support for Families in Need
This new facility will serve as a crucial resource for families involved with the foster care and court systems by providing private meeting spaces. Here, children can interact with case managers, mental health professionals, and participate in supervised visits in a supportive environment. A unique aspect of the center will be the integration of animal companionship, offering emotional support to help families navigate through challenging times.
The grant will specifically fund Phase Two of the project, which focuses on outfitting the interior of the center. This includes:
- Furniture to make the space comfortable and inviting.
- Kitchen essentials to prepare snacks or meals, fostering a home-like atmosphere.
- Office equipment to ensure professionals have the tools needed for effective case management.
These enhancements aim to create a nurturing and functional space where families can heal and thrive.
Community Foundation’s Role
Each year, the LaGrange County Community Foundation invites proposals for projects that enhance the community’s welfare. The Grants Advisory Committee meticulously reviews these applications, recommending funding to the Board of Directors for approval.
The Community Impact Grants are made possible through the generosity of donors who contribute to the Foundation’s Caring Community Fund, unrestricted funds, and field of interest funds. This collaborative effort underscores the community’s commitment to supporting local nonprofits.
